Incenidary Arrow worth it?
I've been looking at the elite preperation Icenidary arrow, and I feel it's a good prep for some spammable degen and spammable disrupt, it costs a decently low mana and with serphant's quickness one can keep it up for along time. Also it's incredibly hard to cap since the boss is near the end missions and sometimes dosen't even spawn! so I'm thinking about buying an elite ranger tome to get it.
I would like to know what do you think about incenidary arrow and could anyone show me some builds for it?
k I used it and it dosen't work as well as I thought

well it interupts too and if you keep hitting the same target I think you can keep him burning for like 16 seconds (with only 12 wilderness survival), if not, what other elite ranger skill should I cap? since I already got the tome.

If you want the burning, burning arrow. If you want the interruption, broad head arrow.

Incendiary arrows has very limited usefulness. Burning Arrows is strictly better for single target damage, Daze is pretty darn good if you wantt o interrupt a caster. The burning from IA doesn't last long enough to swap tragets, so you can't spread conditions. The only things it's good for then are:
Reapplying a condition frequently, to trigger Fragility. Not exactly great, but you can do this. Easier (and non-elite) to use Mark of Rodgort though.
Interrupting non-spells. This can actually be useful, but only in rare instances. The handy thing about IA's interrupts is that they are action interrupts, they'll interrupt any spell, any skill, and even simple attacks. With an IAS and a fast bow you can ensure a hammer user never completes a swing, for example. With Needling Shot you can completely suppress an attacking boss in most cases, interrupting all his swings. There is a nice synergy with Frustration that way too.
Overall though, not a useful elite. Doesn't last long enough, recharge sucks, forces splitting attributes (Burning Arrow is ludicrously in Marksmanship, as is BHA - part of their strength is that they get stronger as your weapon gets stronger). I've had some fun pairing it with Frustration, but that's about it.

I would like to see this skill balanced.
Put the recharge to 10 but increases the cost to 15. This way it's a big energy sink, but will be usable.

Incenidary Arrows is one of the many skills that have been "Nerfed by Neglect"
The idea behind the skill was to give an elite alternative to a build that could both damage and interrupt. Problem is Nightfall's Burning arrow and Factions BHA allowed for players to simply bring those with the addition of other skill combos, and damage/interrupt alot better. The builds around the new skills are far more efficient.
Incenidary would need a buff to make it up to par with the other skills. As of now, it ussually isnt worth it. You would be alot better off with standard Burning arrow/savage/distracting shot combo.

Incendiary just does too much but not for long enough. Guys here like preps and elites that they can keep running for near to the recharge time, or that do some major damage.
Incendiary does neither. Though I do like it when in a multiple ranger/epidemic kind of scenario I was just thinking of. If I pull it off, I'll let you know. In the meantime,BA or BHA, or my fav Prep Shot, is the way to go. If all else fails, Glass Arrows needs some love, too.

k thanks, guess I'll have to wait until sometime Anet buffs Incenidary Arrow up
Well burning arrow was out of question since I don't have Nightfall, and I already have BHA (very fun) so I got Melandru's Shot mostly due to its high damage output and energy bonus energy thing.
p.s. what's so good about needling shot? I see alot of people taking it.

[skill=big]Needling Shot[/skill]
Essentially, NS does armor ignoring damage. Also, against an enemy at/under 50% hp, the skill instantly recharges. IAS without an IAS, though conditional. With RtW as your prep, it hits for +30 for each hit and is still armor ignoring damage, so damage based rangers will definitely have this on their bar.

yes
I've seen a lot of Rt/R spamming out needling now with Spirit's Strength/RtW/Fav Winds, odd considering how old the build is.

Or with IAS reduces the activation time for needling shot, making it even faster. I like Flail and Needling Shot on my Choking Gas build.

i loved using that elite with serpents quickness constant interupts and dps
its good pressure. its hard to manage. i'd rather go with BHA. imo

Brilliantly simplistic. Your genius shines this day. I used AM with 2 warriors using Crip Slash and Dragon Slash. It was a beautiful massacre.

wasnt Incendiary Arrows buffed recently, I remember it just interrupting, without the burning, or am I mistaken?
anyway its not a great elite but it has its uses. mainly it frees up space in your already packed skill bar as you can drop distracting and savage(although some ppl who use Incendiary Arrows continue to use them for some unknown reason)
as well as a complete shutdown of a character, doesnt matter if melee or caster as you interrupt anything, even regular attacks.
another advantage is that you can use attack skills while still interrupting, thus also doing respectable damage. however the marksmanship line currently lacks good attack skills, marauder's shot seems the only non elite good 1 and it has a major drawback... dual and forked arrow could be used if you have other damage modifiers, however without access to kindle arrows(as you use incendiary) and any conjure(if you want to use forked arrow) this option is rather weakened
if I were you I would cap it, build different builds around it and try them out. if you dont like it you can always switch to a different build and elite...
